What Is Included in the All Inclusive Vacation

I have been thinking a lot lately about taking a vacation. In doing my research to plan for this vacation, I keep coming across offers that advertise a low price for an all inclusive vacation. But I haven’t quite figured out what is typically included in these types of offers and what I would have to pay for on my own.

There are a few things that seem to be fairly standard for inclusion in one of these packages:

  • Airfare or cruise tickets. Getting there is included in the price.
  • Rooms. The hotel is included, usually at a resort.
  • Food. Food isn’t always included but if the vacation includes a stay at a resort then the food is often included. Food on cruises is included as well.

The one thing I’m concerned about finding out is whether or not activities are included. There seem to be limitations on the activities that are included and a lot of variation between offers. For example, I looked at several all inclusive vacations to Mexico; some offered a wealth of activities like historical tours and scuba diving lessons whereas others offered what appeared to be suggested attractions but the price wasn’t included in the vacation ticket.
