Roger Federer Hoping New Coach Can Help Him Win French Open, Finally

The French Open  is sure to be thrilling this year as Roger Federer   will once again attempt to capture the only Grand Slam championship that has eluded him. He was defeated by Rafael Nadal in 2006 and 2007. And as Federer realizes that his window is closing, he has hired a very special coach to help him master the clay court.

The coach that Federer recruited is Jose Higueras.   The world-famous Spaniard has helped others reach the French Open tennis championship. In 1989, he coached Michael Chang to victory and he hopes to do the same thing with Federer.

Federer is already off to a great start with his new coach. Earlier this year he won his first title at Estoril with Higueras working behind the scenes. But the greatest obstacle for Federer and Higueras is the three-time French Open champ, Nadal. Who knows, maybe the French Open schedule will favor Federer.
