Online Marketing is the Way of the Future

Just like everything else in our world, marketing is transitioning to a virtual existence.
Marketing has always made the world go around, but never so much as in the last century or so. Radio, TV, newspapers, magazines, billboards, etc. have all proved to be lucrative outlets for advertising.
Their usefulness is fading as people switch to more Internet-driven lives, however. People now watch more DVDs or commercial-free television programming, rather than sitting through the excessive commercials on TV. CDs and iPods are replacing radio stations, and therefore fewer radio commercials are heard. Many people now read the news online instead of in a newspaper, and browsing the Internet has largely replaced magazines as a way to spend leisure time.
With everyone switching to more of an online lifestyle, of course marketing has followed suit. Ads are found in abundance on news sites, "ezines," and even in the search results you get back when looking for information online.
With the emphasis on written and visual marketing online, it makes sense to pursue a career in the field — after all, the trend will only continue, as computers and the Internet are here to stay! A visual communications degree program will teach you the principles of design and layout necessary to design visually pleasing ads. And what makes better sense than to pursue your marketing degree online, since online is where your new knowledge will be put to use?
The Internet is truly the way of the future, so why not make it a part of your future, too!
