3 Random Ways to “Go Green”

Many environmentally conscious people are now "going green" — a term that refers to sustainable living practices, that is, doing things that are good for the earth. Here are 3 random ways to go green — ways that are guaranteed to NOT cut into your quality of life:
- Reuse scrap paper. I don’t know about you, but I produce a lot of printer paper trash that is printed only on one side. At the same time, I’m also searching for a notepad to jot something down on. You can reuse that paper and save some trees (and some money) by cutting it and stapling it into little mini notepads. And when you’re done with that, why, you can recycle it of course!
- Burn natural soy wax candles. Aromatherapy soy candles are just as enjoyable as their paraffin counterparts, but they are better on the environment for two reasons: because they create less soot, and because they use a plentiful crop (soy beans) grown right here in our own country. Soy jar candles come in a variety of different scents. Yes, you can have your candles and enjoy them too!
- Take quick showers. If you’re like me and always in a hurry or running short on time, you might be doing this anyway — but regardless, it’s always worth seeing if you can get your shower time down a little. Shorter showers use less water and burn less of the energy used to heat the water.
Going green doesn’t mean that you have to give up things that make your life easier or more pleasant — it just means finding other ways to get those things. What other creative ways can you find to go green?
