You don’t find many girls who like working on cars, but the other day I did!  Interestingly, this girl likes cars and horses, just like me — she is another of the boarders at the same barn I board my horse at.

It came about because she mentioned she was going to a car show the other day.  I mentioned my vintage sports car and that I needed to get it running again, and she was surprised to find that I enjoy working on my own car.  We talked a little bit about car shows and the things you see there — hopped up and rebuilt engines, custom rims and aftermarket Porsche wheels and VW wheels, etc.

Being a girl who knows about cars and works on her own, I’ve experienced a lot of mixed reactions from guys.  Some guys think it’s totally hot, and others feel like their manhood is being threatened.  Still others may act like they think it’s hot… but it’s just like they think of you like one of those calendars or something: You can talk about it but you’d better not ever turn out to be made of substance, because then you might show them up!
